Once again there was nothing to eat...

I bet there is a simple trick to making this carrot art stuff.

Whoever the designer of that candy was, well, they're my hero.

After a full day of touristy stuff, snacks were a must for the long ride home.

I continued my streak of trying strange cheese sticks. They were... strange. And waxy. And that rapper!

There are some airlines that are supposed to be amazing airlines to fly with and the "amazingness" aura of Qatar Airways made me book with them... and I failed to see what this amazingness everyone is talking about is. I still think Turkish Airways staff were way better and FinnAir have a much better fleet for long haul flights. Heck, even the AirFrance flights I took to Korea in March were better.

Of course the four hour delay partially influenced my view of the airline but the staff weren't all that great, the planes were not great, the Doha airport was underwhelming. Now I want to try Malaysian Airlines to see if at least they can live up to their names (before they go out of business). But hey, at least now I can say I've been on a Qatar Airways flight, for what it's worth. Still haven't been on an A380 though, that's also something I want to try.

Lesson learnt - it wasn't grape season yet.

Still waiting for that perfect "in case of emergency" moment to eat these. I guess I've waited a bit too long...

If those yellow things were eggs, they were weird eggs. Perhaps they were some kind of veggie.

I guess this was exactly what it said on the tin - pâté.

In the land of strange things, I discovered that there is such a thing as "national" mangoes in Spain and that they don't come from some random islands but are rather grown somewhere on the continent. I'm having a total brainfart and I can't remember where I've been told they're grown. Oh well.

... and I don't have small hands! Anywho, an apple a day and all of that and I cannot be bothered to take a look at this new Doctor Who stuff, I haven't even watched most of 10th stuff! I did rewatch a few of the 2nd Doctor's episodes with Jaime and Zoe, those were so good! They just don't make them like that any more.

Homemade grilled sandwich and some old school QI (because Netflix UK still only has up to series I available...), nothing better for a night in!

Those few days in Marseille were definitely too few but at least I came back with a stash of Korivkas and some lovely new dresses, thanks to my personal shopper aka my mum! You can't really tell but this black dress is superbly 50s inspired... and goes well with those light blue flats.

I had the most horrible night of sleep last night even though it started to cool down a bit (and by that I mean my room went from 25.1C to 24.7C) after the storm we had yesterday and I did not schedule any entries ahead of time... so this morning you get a half arsed one. Hooray for oatmeal! And by that I mean that I needed something for the 365 Day Project entry for the 13th of August and what better thing than that what keeps me alive at 10am at work?

I'm not even too much of a pain au chocolat person and yet there is something about them. Especially ones from a bakery down my street.

This weekend and at the start of the week we had quite an interesting thing happening - over 35C with close to 100% humidity over hours on end and without rainstorms. Going outside from an air conditioned place was really like going into a wet sauna. Oh September...
