I've decided that it will take me forever to fully sort through my 150+ pictures from L'viv therefore I will be posting some of them in batches of 10 or 15. For most people, those pictures cannot be interesting but for me they're little reminders of a life from long ago.

Elmo and Tchorny, of course, wanted to come with me. Alas with my small-ish handbag they didn't get to see much of the town.

I was expecting a FinnAir flight from Helsinki to Kyiv, didn't happen, boo!

Standard Ukie Airlines meal. I kid you not, I got the same little sanwiches both going there and back... I would have loved to see what they would have given me if I had asked for a vegan meal. And they offered like three kinds of vodka on the plane... quite a change from the usual Lapin Kulta.

So Kyiv you actually have to get out from Terminal B and walk a good distance to Terminal A and that's not indicated anywhere. I knew I had to look for a Terminal A somewhere but there were no signs pointing to it that I could see. I asked my way at the information desk and the ladies there looked at me like I was an alien for not knowing. But as I say, there are no stupid questions.

Finally in L'viv, I went to town through one of the parks I used to play at as a child. This sign tells you to watch out for the train, it's a train for children, I think I took it once or twice with my parents, don't know if it still runs though.

Ah. A couple of paces from the center of the park you have grass knee-high... and tags, tags everywhere!

I can't remember if that central statue was there before. There is a cinema in the background, it really looked run down to me (walls almost falling down, well, not really but with cracks and torn paint) but it still shows films.

I have fond memories of the pavement on some of the pathways in that park.

There were students "jogging" in the park as part of their PE class, one of their teachers had a "Ukraine" sports outfit. It reminded me of that time of the Great Wall of China when I just randomly ran into guys wearing those Ukie sports clothes.

In any case, it's a statue at the center of a fountain, run down alas too.

I think this picture sums up the park quite well. There is this sense of grandeur in most of the parts, lors of statues and fountains, but they're all run down.
