Killing time along the Seine.

Thanks to a lot of factors colliding, some happy ones, some not so happy ones, and my parents kind of telling me that I hadn't seen a stage this year so it would be fun and it would stupid not to take this opportunity (thank you! you were right!), I was in Paris this week-end and I got to see the final Tour de France stage. At least the six loops around the Champs and all the crazy, lovely people who were there also. As much as I like to say that I would never live in Paris for long periods of time, truth is, with sufficient funds to live in a nice place intra-muros, I totally would. I'd probably miss having a very large body of water around all the time, but it would still be rather awesome. But only if I have enough money and it's a nice place intra-muros, because I'm a snob like that. The stuff you can find when walking along the city is pretty awesome. Too many tourists these days though.

I know what you mean about the tourist thing. I just came back from Rome and I feel like the city seems to have changed in a way that caters to the tourists.

I'm staying away from Rome unless it's raining and freezing cold :D That's pretty much, I think, the only time you can get any personal space there away from tourists... such a shame they've turned it into such a touristy circus exhibition.
