Early mornings and late dinners

This is perhaps the best thing about going to work so early. That and a quiet office for a couple of hours. |
In other news, there isn't much really. All I can say is that it's hard being a fan girl because it's really an irrational thing and irrational things are tiring. On one hand I care because I'm a fangirl but on the other hand I can't stop asking myself just why the hell I care since in the end it has no real impact on my life! Ah. Fandoms and the joys linked to them. Still... in the real world I'm back to my "summer" schedule which means that now instead of scheduling the times when I go out, I actually have to book a day a week when I stay in. I make it sound like I'm the person who goes out all the time and really that's not true, it's just that I like to plan things... and I like to have days when I can just do nothing. Just when I have tons of things to do for work everyone decides to want to be social. But that means that often I come back home and I haven't really eaten dinner and I now have a new favourite (and very easy) comfort food. It's based on this recipe except my recipe has nothing in common with it besides the rice and egg. |
See my problem with most fried rice recipes is that they call for day-old rice and I don't know about you but I don't eat rice all that often and that means that I don't just have left-over rice lying in the fridge! This is just regular rice with onions, garlic, mushrooms and egg. I even once tried making the rice as in riz pilaf and it worked marvelously well! |
Before the egg is mixed in at the end. I left the automatic settings on the camera and it decided to be funky and give weird hues to the photos... so this is the best one I got. |
As can be seen, comfort food is really not about looking good but it's about tasting good... and nothing beats tasting good as this. |
