It's usually hot around here, it's normal not to see rain for months at a time and then when it rains, it really rains. The worst though is not so much the heat, it's the Mistral which is a really strong wind which usually lasts for a week or so. If ever there is a fire that starts while there is Mistral, it's almost impossible for firefighters to tame it... and sometimes it's even impossible to walk straight because the wind is so strong.

Overall I wouldn't say that "global warming" has affected Marseille much but then again I have a very special view on the whole warming business... I blame the fact that I work in environmental sciences for my skepticism on some things which people attribute to it.
