So most people see the city of Paris as ~*~Paris~*~ but in the end it's just a city. It's not a bad city, it benefits from years and years and years of centralised everything and let's be honest almost everything is still centralised.
Paris is all about taking the train and hoping it doesn't stop at Avignon TGV or Aix TGV. That makes you lose about fifteen minutes which is a catastrophe.
Oh and see the funky lamps they now have at Saint Charles?
Paris is about making it to Gare de Lyon and seeing that it's still being renovated and that the signs towards the metro still suck. And you finally get to your hotel at around 8:30pm and check in and it's close to Bd de Grenelle so it's easy to find and easy to walk to the place where the work meeting is.
But the hotel is like any decently priced hotel in Paris: small. So it's time to head out for some window shopping and some food. Thai food in this case.
Of course all the shops close at 8pm at the latest, which is good because otherwise I would have come back with two pairs of boots at least. But now we're well into autumn and I'm still boot-less because the stuff around here is really not what I'm looking for.
Eventually it's time to head back because even though those work meetings don't start at 8am, it's still a good idea to make it there on time for the 9am call.
I think the theme of the room was "tiny and orange". Which was still better than the "tiny and poop-green" that seemed to be the theme last time.
All these adventures called for a second dessert (the first one was a thai flan with coconut milk and it was amazing).
Right. Did any of this make sense? No. That's ok. This was mainly for procrastinating purposes.
Must go back. Deadlines. Still trying to win the Miss Procrastination 2010 award.
