Day 181 - 04.05.10

I doubt that my name will ever grace name plates.

Still haven't found the black holes at the LHC.

I will be a bad person and I will say something terrible... CERN, well, it's kind of boring if you're just there for a visit. Up above you have the night view from my CERN hostel room and then my CERN hostel bed. Yep, at first I thought it will be really like Cite U in Paris but the rooms are rather nice. The bathrooms are lovely too and everything. The food at the restaurant is great, even though it's pretty expensive. The best part about this whole trip is that I got some positive comments on my work which motivates me a bit. For the past couple of months I felt like maybe I wasn't going in the right direction and maybe my work isn't worthy of a PhD but in the end, I think I'll manage it. The bad part is that I'm tired as hell these days and I don't really feel like going to Geneva. Can you really blame me though? I used to live right next door! It takes about 40 minutes by bus + tram from here, since we're supposed to finish around 4pm tomorrow, I'll there then. That's about it. Ben Miller talking about the LHC is way sexier than actually being right on top of it and not being to go down to see it.
