I have two journal articles to finish up and one on the back burner and I feel about as motivated as… well, as an unmotivated thing or person can be. Therefore of course, but of course!, everything else seems to be fascinating. I now know all the latest theories on the population variations on Easter Island and the Moai statues… even more than I did two weeks ago, when was the last time I looked into the issue. Sometimes having access through the uni to scientific publications is a very dangerous thing. But you also get to discover random stuff, like the fact that internet memes do have a plentiful associated academic literature. Oh, life… curiosity may or may not have killed the cat but it's definitely killing my academic publication output right now. In other news, here is my dad being adventurous and saying hello to a duck. Chances are he will even see some snow before he leaves, maybe on Tuesday night or thereabout! ![]() |
