If the ingredient list on the box is correct, then that vodka bottle candy contains less than 0.1g of actual vodka. It sure didn't taste like vodka... the Cointreau was a tad better, it tasted at least a tiny bit like the real stuff.

January 7

Made varenyky the other day, including my favourites with cherries. We also experimented steaming them instead of boiling them and I bet a few Ukrainian grandmas were turning in their graves. In the end we did end up boiling pretty much all of them because the good old way is just better.
