To be honest when I was 15-16, Generation X and Microserfs were really books I enjoyed. Also Life After God, loved that book back then. These days though I despise his stuff. His style reminds me of Murakami a bit, in the sense that you kind of feel like it might be a true story about real people (but then I find "real people" so pathetic and their lives totally pathetic too that I end up hating these kinds of books).

Clearly he got me into reading and that's why I consider him to be important but if given the choice today I would not pick up one of his books.
