So... Invisibialia. I actually found it decent enough as a podcast, except for the part where they aired at least two of the season's episodes as advertisement on other podcasts so in the end it was a very short season. That said, let's go back quickly to that episode about categories (I think most of it aired for the first time on "This American Life"). It really made me think about how we need more realistic representations of people who do not fit in the categories that are often thought of as "normal". I'm not only talking about more bi, gay and lesbian people but also asexual people. It's one of my pet peeves... media that has a perfectly good asexual character and then someone decides they need to sex it up a little, like whenever they try to the Doctor a story arc where he's supposed to show some kind of love/sexual interest in someone else. Nope. One can lead a very happy life, surrounded by people they love, without ever feeling like they're "missing their other half" and that message should be spread out more. ![]() |
