This is one of those annoying 'our pets are better than your pets' posts. Yes, ours beat everyone else's. Well... I don't know if I can say "ours" as I probably am involved in about 0.0000002% of their little lives but I still adore them to bits.

This is Karolina (or maybe Carolina or Karoline or Caroline, I'm not quite sure what her real name is) and she's a turtle. She's been giving my mum grief for a couple of days now because she refuses to eat. There is tons of stuff she used to love but from one day to the next she just stopped eating. These photos were taken before her new diet started, she went for a swim in her pool.

And this is Linda. Linda is all kinds of awesome because she can eat twice her weight of leaves, carrots, apples, etc. per day. She especially loves fresh flowers, my parents can't leave any pretty plants within her reach, and she can reach high, so that means whole parts of the garden and flower beds are "Linda-proof" with mesh coverings. On the photos she's demonstrating one of her favourite things to during the summer: lounge around on the colder parts of the concrete in what we call her "sausage" pose. Clearly she wasn't amused when I pointed the camera in her face.

I figure that animals are smart, she's offered tons of different things to eat... once she'll feel like eating again, she'll eat. It's just hard because it's the first time we have a turtle and even though she's been with my parents for over a year, they're still not quite sure that they're doing the "right things", but hey, it's by making mistakes that one learns!

Heh... I don't even know who named our Karolina, my mum adopted her over a year ago and now the legend of her name is lost on us :)
