Here are week 43's lunchboxes, only two of them because of other lunch things happening. |
Thursday. Extremely yummy slow-cooked pork. Cranberries and bananas form a beautiful duo. Friday. Duck and salmon quiche. Pumpkin pie will never get old, especially when made with fresh pumpkin. (all previous weeks can be seen here) |
I've had a couple of questions come up a few times about the lunchbox series, so here are the answers: What lunchbox do I use? I use a lunchbox like this one from MonBento.com but mine has one black box and one white one, the little bag is grey. Each box can house 450ml. Do I cook stuff just for the lunchbox? Sometimes but most of the time it's just leftovers and other random stuff that's sitting in the fridge and needs to be eaten. What is my lunchbox philosophy? Always make room for veggies and dessert. A meal is not a meal if there is no dessert, that's just how life is. What problems have I encountered while making/packing lunches? Some things are very filling and filling half a box (about 200ml) with whole grain cereal stuff or buckwheat makes a lunch for two. How can you heat stuff when half of a box is filled with things to heat and the other with stuff that shouldn't be heated? I'm lucky and I work in a place where we have proper plates and utensils and a microwave, so I just take the stuff to heat out of the box and heat it on a plate. Hearing from other people, it's almost a rare thing in most offices around here to have plates and microwaves. Why the hell do I take photos of the lunchboxes even when I don't put any effort into the presentation? I'm a special snowflake, that's why. No really, at first I thought that I'd really put effort into the whole presentation and be like all those cool people with awesome lunchbox photos. The truth is most of the time the lunchboxes are put together in five minutes, at the same time as doing something else. These days I'm taking the photos just out of curiosity, maybe one day I'll look back at the chronology and I'll see some meaningful evolution. Right. That's about it I think. |

Date: 2010-11-07 09:12 am (UTC)I think the most important part is not to get discouraged by all the pretty lunchboxes out there that people post. I tried making stuff like that a couple of days and either I am not talented or they spend hours on theirs!
