Plants don't agree with me.
Feb. 6th, 2010 12:13 pmI've had my two little plants for about a month now and the rose is almost dead, as predicted. The other plant has lost all its flowers but it did say on the description that it would have flowers all the time except for February and March... so I'm blaming it on that. I've been rather good at watering them. I really have. I check if they need water every two days or so! But I think that my system isn't what plants need. I basically check the soil they're in and I have three levels: dry, kinda moist, wet. I only water when I consider it to be "dry". I have a feeling that real gardening pros have about fifteen levels to describe how the soil is and based on those they water accordingly. I basically just drench the whole pot in lots of water and that's it. The soil becomes then "wet" and I'm all set for a couple of days. My mum would be so exasperated with my attempts at gardening. I don't know where I got my genes, everyone in my family loves gardens and knows how to take care of them but I could probably kill a fake plant. ( this makes it look like I own a jungle ) In other news, I went for a run this morning and now I wish I hadn't. Clearly it's ok to run on snow but it's still too cold for my liking. I feel a head cold coming on... I've been eating cereal like a kid again and that's a sure sign that I'm going to be sick. But let's look on the bright side, first proper run of the season even though I lasted only 15 minutes or so. |
