Et un autre jour de grève survécu...
Sep. 23rd, 2010 06:42 pmAnother one of those major strike days. Everyone's been back in the office for three weeks and this is already the second one... kind of gives you an idea of what the upcoming year will be like. I still remember how many times my dad had to drive us to school back in my high school days, at one point there was a bus strike for almost two weeks and then after the strike ended they went back on strike because they wanted to get paid for the original strike days. Pffff... Anywho, as I said before, people can say whatever they want about how the president is dumb, I'm not going to comment on that, but at least he got one thing right: we now have minimum service assured in terms of public transport during strikes. It might sound silly but in reality it's a huge step forward to becoming a more civilised country. On another note, I just read an article a friend linked on FB and it was about mums who have "loser mum syndrome" where they feel like they're the worst mums ever because they didn't know that they had to do things like buy an end-of-the-year present for the kindergarten assistant. No seriously, making a mum feel a loser just because she has better things to do than suck up to an assistant in kidergarten? Call me mean/inconsiderate/whatever-you-want but a mum's job is already hard enough (considering that many mums work full time and are still expected to do most chores and take care of the children) that belittling her because she did not know the current fad in sucking up is absolutely stupid. There my two cents. I don't get this whole thing about parents feeling that they need to buy presents for teachers... what happened to just letting the kids do most of the thanking and bringing a traditional apple? And finally, last set of first test photos from the 20mm f1.7! Woohoo! |

Yay panda! Japan-da! Frying pan-da!
Sep. 23rd, 2010 08:52 pmAm I procrastinating? Mais non môôôônsieur! En fait si... I counted, without going into way too many details, I still have at least four slides to finish for a meeting tomorrow. Add to that add the fact that the strike at SNCF will still be ongoing tomorrow morning and that means that my usual 7:30AM train won't be going and that means I have to get the earlier one... and therfore wake up half an hour earlier. I used to be ok with waking up before 6AM but not anymore! I suppose I could see it as a positive thing, I get to practice turning on my "feux de route" (road lights? well, the ones that you only should turn on when there are no other cars and no lights on), it's an art, isn't it? Alright. That's enough procrastinating. Here's dinner from a while ago... and one of the last tomatoes from the garden. |
Ah. Yes. And this. Never say no to panda. I really love the last one, the one at the supermarket when the panda kicks the stuff on the ground. Yes, I just love the judging panda. I can't even explain that one. It's like the judging cousin of the dancing panda... and we all love the that panda. |
(or here if you can't see embedded stuff) BTW, the post subject is a total reference to Love Shuffle, which is one of those jdramas I could rewatch over and over and over and over again. Yay panda! |
