I had almost forgotten that it's laskiaispulla season (or rather it's already almost over)! Last week-end was the annual "all of Helsinki meets up at Koffinpuisto and sleds up until everyone's butt is sore" meet-up, wasn't it? Or maybe it's this week-end. In any case, I cannot not have some laskiaispulla this year... so I'll just have to make my own. Project for Saturday or Sunday!

It can't be all that hard. Heck, I used to think that those marzipan roses were super duper hard to make... up until I tried. It's actually child's play. I made these (and then squished up in a glass) for my mum's birthday. Laskiaispulla is probably the same, it's just a yeast dough with cardamom and the filled with stuff once it's baked. And then watch me moan and whine about how I missed that up.





I made another batch of the tiramisu mentioned here and took a photo of the final result. As I said then, it's not sexy but it's amazingly good.


And an update on the egg shaping thing I had asked about here - the above photo is from my first attempt, clearly it works better if the eggs are peeled correctly... but sometimes that fails. The second attempt is not pictured but worked out much better, except that I know it also works better if all the thin film is removed as with the shell.

But who cares, bunny eggs!!!!!1!!!eleventeen!!!!!

They're the best thing ever, eggs taste about 1232348957 times better once they're bunny shaped! True scientific fact!
