Day three and some cookies.

Continuing with the second day... Day One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now. Day Two: Nine things about yourself. Day Three: Eight ways to win your heart. Day Four: Seven things that cross your mind a lot. Day Five: Six things you wish you’d never done. Day Six: Five people who mean a lot (in no order whatsoever) Day Seven: Four turn-offs. Day Eight: Three turn-ons. Day Nine: Two images that describe your life right now, and why. Day Ten: One confession. 1. Be in relatively decent shape... because sometimes random bike trips and walks on icy shores are the best. 2. Agree to come along on some crazy adventures, like waking up at 5am to make it to a 6am picnic. 3. Live relatively close by. I admit it, I'm rather lazy and it's so much easier to plan spontaneous things with someone who lives close by. 4. Bickering and questioning me is good, but only up to a certain point. That's what the death glare is for, learn to recongnise it. 5. Love food and know good food. Extra points for liking the stuff I cook/bake. 6. Be interested in science. It's nice to discuss telly and films but when you get down to it, if you don't get basic science there isn't much we can talk about. 7. In the same line as above, know a bit about politics and religion and don't be afraid of discussion on those topics. There is 99.999% chance that we won't agree on anything but that's what makes life interesting, isn't it? 8. Know the notion of personal space, "me" time and that emails and postcards win over phone calls. No one is a baby around here and it's ok for everyone to do things by themselves. And speaking of food, I tried out a recipe on a tiny batch of wine cookies the other Alas I wrote the recipe on a post-it and forgot to save the original source. BTW, the 2012 on the bottle of wine was written by my dad. He has a huge collection of wines and that's his way of remembering by when a wine should be finished. This is the recipe as I wrote it down. I made a few changes, I didn't put in any lemon but rather added some fleur d'oranger. The quantities indicated should give over a hundred cookies so I cut everything down and used two tablespoons of all the ingredients that were supposed to be one cup. These were called "Italian doughnut cookies" or something of the sort. When raw they kind of looked like... well... maggots... almost. Bon appétit bien-sûr! The result was much better than what could have been expected. I took some of the cookies out at the 15 minute mark and they were soft, with another 4 minutes they turned out much more cookie like and both versions were extremely good. |

Date: 2011-02-24 09:42 am (UTC)I can sometimes taste the differences in wine (or smell rather, I suppose) - like, if a wine is fruity or more... uh... not fruity? Yeah, I totally rock at that. But mostly I follow the Dylan Moran guide to wine. He's a smart man. :D

Date: 2011-02-24 02:54 pm (UTC)But hum. 24th of April. Are there still tickets left? I might actually be in Hki for two weeks during that time (you know the whole Vappu picnic is so sacred I have to be there two weeks earlier to start the whole deal).Who am I kidding? At that time I'll be like a hermit desperately trying to finish off my thesis... while in Helsinki... while everyone prepares to celebrate Vappu or goes to fangirl Dylan Moran :Dno subject
