I fell on this on the back of my pouch of dried figs the other day. Talk about conflicting messages... one tells you that recycling packaging is a good way of protecting the environment but then there is that "NO" on the red flag linked to the recycling bin, which I assume means that I should not put that packaging in the recycling bin. Argh. Why put the first text if you're not supposed to recycle this anyway? Is it because it's on a pouch of organic food and therefore should mark something? This is actually pretty representative of the love/hate relationship many people have with recycling. A lot of peeps just throw everything and anything in the yellow bin (that's the one for recycling stuff here) because they don't actually know what goes in there. Marking on the packaging is a good idea but it must be done in a more straightforward way. |
