The other week, as part of a workshop, there was a cruise along the Helsinki shoreline to look at the new constructions that will bring new fancy buildings that will cost an arm and a leg and probably one's first born. The discussions during that week were mainly about sustainable living and near-zero emission dwellings, etc. Something tells me that these constructions are going to be marketed as absolutely brilliant in those terms but in reality there won't be much to them...

The cruise made me feel like if I ever need to find a new calling in life, "tourist guide who knows too much history and stories about the city" could be it!

That's the zoo island. One of those places in Hki I've never felt the need to visit and doubt that I ever will.

There was one summer when I used to go to this island all the time but I haven't been back there in years.

Yeah, I skipped the zoo island trip. Everyone that went wished they hadn't so, I regret this not.

Those really are some amazing clouds...

I have spent a lot of life seriously contemplating being a tour guide for one place or another...if I could just be fluent in at least two more languages, then Skansen would be perfect XD

Yep, apparently the zoo isn't all that much fun... then again I cannot understand just how useful zoos are unless they're actually reproduction sanctuaries and the money from the visits is only used to help save endangered species. Just looking at caged animals for the pleasure of seeing them, don't really understand that.
