News from the front - I finally got my NIE (used to be a resident's card but then they changed it a while back to just this number that's on a card that can't be used as photo identification) and now I can have a normal local bank account which allows me to get a phone and internet contract which will make life better. No clue as to when exactly I will have the interwebs connected, here they actually have to drop by your house to install it instead of sending the modem and router by mail.
