Last night I started watching the "20 ans des Guignols de l'info" DVD and let me tell you that, for me, one of the people who best represents France is Patrick Poivre d'Arvor (aka PPDA).
He's been the face of the 8pm news on TF1 for as long as I can remember and even though back in France I've always favoured the newscasts on Arte, I still sometimes watched his show. And well, he's always been a rather famous face. The thing is, last July he got fired from TF1 newscasting after 21 years on air, most likely because of Sarko.
Now, I heard about it because it was big news, you just don't fire someone like that and not have it heard but I didn't live it live though. Watching him being all like himself on that DVD, well it was great and he did all the things his puppet usually does like "on est en 2009 et vous regardez toujours trop la télévision" and "atchao bonsoir".
So there.
